can you tell us more about why you (specifically) did this? and how?

Hi Mara :)

I'm doing this project (very slowly) because I got frustrated looking for standard Patristic abbreviations online. It would be helpful if there was one website that listed the standard way to abbreviate most early Christian works. So, I decided to start putting this resource together. Each major author takes about 2-3 hours to do, so I'm only going to do about 1 per month (+/- depending on how busy I am). It's a relatively simple project that can be done in front of the TV, which is nice, and yet I still feel like I'm doing something productive.

PS

Hopefully with time some others will contribute too. If not, I will do what I can, and see where it goes. Even just getting the major 4th century authors done would be helpful.

The abbreviations and CPG numbers for Origen and Cyril of Alexandria are finished. They should be online at FourthCentury.com in the next few days.

[Update]
